The Børresen Yngling Racing

The most successful Yngling - It is easy to say, but it is the fact. The boat is develop together with the 4 times World Champion Mads Christensen and former World Champion Jesper Bendix, is it our intention is to build the worlds best Yngling.

For BB to start producing the new ISAF suggested Women Olympic Keelboat Yngling it is a natural thing. Our Company has from its beginning build Boats for top Racing for more than 60 Years. BB has trough all these Years been able to renew the Company and to prepare it selves to the new Technology.

BB has been producing Dragon for example to King Constantine, who won Olympic Gold in ROM 1960. In 1971 BB develop as the first the fibre glass Dragon by transforming it from wood to fibre glass with great success. Today wooden and fibre glass Dragons still is equal in open competition.

From the expertise in producing boats in fibre glass BB has been able to develop a high-tech boat as the Soling. By the last Olympic in Sydney the 13 of the 16 Soling was produced by BB and with great success as BB Soling won Gold and Silver medals. Only with a little help from Jesper Bank now 2 times Olympic gold medals winner and off course also Joachim Schumann who got Olympic silver medals and early won Olympic gold in Atlanta in BB Soling.

The expertise from these years in Soling we have transformed into the sister ship Yngling and our wishes is to develop and sell a boat with a similar and high quality racing standard.

Success does not come by itself. The key factors are a continuous development process and a well-established cooperation with some of the best yachtsmen/women in the class. That takes place to ensure that the BB Yngling always is equipped to the wishes of top sailors.

Optimized hull

The hul is built according to the lamination description, but a special made resin and a heat treatment means that the stiffness of the hull has been improved and the boat is less likely to twist. For faster draining, 2 X-large bailers are standard as well as carbon tiller and carbon extension.

Keel and rudder

The keel is covered with fibre glass and gelcoat which is moulded to obtain an extremely smooth surface and a symmetrical hydrodynamic shape. The position of the keel is a point of great importance and the BB Yngling is optimised at this crucial point according to the new class rules (2006).

A new rudder profile has been made and optimised to the change of class rules with minimum thickness at aft edge.

The Racing 2007 model is fitted with an adjustable mast step, which gives you totally freedom in moving the mast back and forth - whitin the margin of the class rules. We provide the standard boat with rigging with turnbuckles for fast adjustment (tool enclosed). We provide the standard boat with John mast or Proctor mast with halyards and trim lines trough deck.

Trim functions

Mainsheet is endless double sheeting system. Haulers/control lines are spectra or other types of quality ropes and they are all carried out to the deck in both sides.
