THE HISTORY

Although constructed as early as 1928, the Dragon, because of its beautiful lines, sailing qualities and worldwide class enthusiasm among owners and their crews, is still one of the fastest growing class boats. Even though it last competed in the Olympics in 1972, its growth, as well as the interest and enthusiasm of class racers throughout the world has not waned. A significant reason for this continued interest and growth is directly related to the introduction of the Borresen fibre glass Dragon in 1971.

World famous for its wooden Dragons which dominated fleets across the globe, Borresen's loyalty for the class and its desire to reach new levels of boat construction, without making older boats obsolete, has made the Borresen yard one of the most recognized class boat building organizations in the industry. From the regular class sailor and his/her crew to Olympic class sailors and royal families, the Borresen Dragon is recognized for its quality of construction, looks and speed.

In 1996, the Borresen team has introduced an even higher level of class boat, the Racing 96, a gracious and handsome boat that builds from and improves on the design of the Grand Prix model introduced in 1995.

The Racing 2003 is another testament to not only the quality and beauty of the Borresen Dragon, but also to its commitment to the class and its desire to be a leader in setting the highest standards for its design and development.
